Peter Nash began his writing life as an advertising copywriter and soon added journalism into the mix by writing race reports for various consumer yachting titles.
When Boating Business was bought from Carlton Communications in 1983, the then publisher, Robert Hall, changed it from an A4 magazine to an A3(ish) newspaper-format. And he asked Peter Nash to edit the new-look magazine.
With two breaks to return to copywriting, Peter is the longest serving BB editor; still firmly in charge and enjoying the job .
He's seen many changes in the industry, from both the boat production side and the administrative federation side. He's seen companies come and go. And he's seen the mainstay of the industry - the people who work in it - remain pretty much the same since 1983.
'It's a great industry with some great people producing great products,' he says. 'I still enjoy the industry and producing Boating Business in all its forms. Every boat show is like walking back into a friendly club.'
