On November 20, Val Thornborough retired from her position as secretary general of the International Federation of Boat Show Organisers (IFBSO), after eight years in the post.
Willis - new IFBSO secretary general
The new secretary general is Tom Willis, 50, who has been involved with the boat industry for 25 years.
Willis started as a writer on the trade journal IBI in 1977 and progressed to editor of the consumer magazine Motor Boat & Yachting . In 1990 he went freelance and launched Marinedata, a specialist marine-related IT business.
The new appointment was confirmed by the IFBSO executive committee meeting on November 20 at METS.
