Designed to co-ordinate with the company's lightweight HPX foul weather kit, the Windstopper middle layer is two garments - salopettes and jacket.
The garments use Gore-Tex Windstopper fabric that has a breathable ePTFE membrane laminated between two fleece faces, providing two and half times greater thermal insulation than the equivalent, conventional non-laminated fleece.
The result, says Musto, is close-fitting garments that are windproof, sprayproof, thermally effective and breathable, so they can be worn as an external layer until conditions demand full foul weather gear.
Both salopettes and jacket have articulated joints to give freedom of movement, with shower and windproof zips and an off centre zip with chin guard for protection and comfort.
Musto is doing a lot of work with the GBR Challenge and reports enthusiastic comment from grinders and pit men.
