Industry minister visits Southampton Yacht Services

"We could not have wished for a better day to show off SYS and let Alan Johnson see a busy shipyard in full swing, " said SYS managing director, Piers Wilson. "As well as four Oyster yachts in build we were lucky in having a 92ft classic motoryacht being lifted while we were on tour."
We were able to give the minister a good overview of our industry, said Wilson, and discuss some of the problems we face as a business sector, a discourse that I know will continue.
"This is the first time I have seen a shipyard in action, " said Johnson, "and I can say that I have learned more in one hour on this visit than through scores of briefings."
