Northshore launches twin rudder 135
01 Dec 2002
Following the design trend introduced with the smaller Southerly 110, Northshore has just launched the first twin rudder version of its Rob Humphries designed Southerly 135 flagship.
Retaining Southerly's variable draft keel, the twin rudder arrangement - which Northshore says operates within the canoe body draft of just 2' 8" with the keel raised - provides improved handling and sail carrying capacity, while allowing the boat to be dried out safely.
"With the Southerly 135 we have a true world class cruising yacht capable of fast blue water passage making with the added capability to access shallow water lagoons and bays often denied to many fixed keel yachts, " said James Course, Northshore's managing director.
