RCD finalise Colvic asset purchase

Colchester -based RCD Mouldings has finalised the acquisition of all Colvic Craft Plc assets, which include the Sunquest range of 38/40' 44' 50' and 53' Flybridge Cruiser models.

These models will be now marketed as the new Seahawk range with developments on the 44' to give a sedan sports option.

A new Seahawk 58' flybridge is being reviewed by the directors, together with designer Bill Dixon .

RCD says the Seahawk range is available as mouldings only, or part-built for final engineering and fit-out to be completed by the customer, or the customer's preferred boatyard.

The company also has the range of sailing yacht mould tools previously owned by Colvic Craft Plc.

"We currently produce on a contract moulding basis for Windy Boats of Norway, Holland Boat's Atlantic Range and our US client, Seavana LLC, " said sales manager David Cornabe. "The range of mouldings produced for these customers start from 38' up to 58' LOA. Included are luxury powerboats from John Bennett, Bill Dixon and Hans Jorgen Johnsen."

Incorporated in May 2001, RCD Mouldings Ltd set about the business of producing plugs, mould tools and contract mouldings using the pool of experienced craftsman and support staff previously employed by Colvic Craft Plc.

This enabled RCD Mouldings Ltd to maintain and complete a number of contracts previously held by Colvic Craft Plc prior to its cease of trading in 2000.
