The boat calls you on its GSM mobile
01 Jan 2002
The completely wire-free GSM Alarm and Safety system can be quickly fitted without interfering with cabin decor or fittings.
The system uses its own professional long life power packs, which provide a typical operational life of three years before announcing that they will require changing. This, says Haven, enables the system to be used on temporary as well as permanent moorings, as mains power is not required.
The system can also transmit alarm messages via the GSM mobile phone network from almost anywhere in Europe.
The GSM transmitter can be programmed to send a variety of alarm and maintenance signals to designated telephone numbers.
Haven says the system can send an alarm when triggered by a variety of detectors, such as motion and smoke detectors, as well as having the ability to add a variety of intrusion detectors.
There is also the option to detect and signal a build-up of water in the bilge if the automatic pump fails.
