Chlorine-free drinking water kills bacteria and viruses
01 Jun 2002
Contaminated water can result in severe sickness and diarrhoea. But Elsan says until recently, the only products available to purify drinking water were either based on chlorine - which gave an unpleasant smell and taste - or on formulas that could not be relied upon to kill all micro-organisms.
Elsil, however, is a revolutionary new way to preserve stored, or purify infected water, says Elsan.
It contains no chlorine and eliminates other bad tastes and odours as it destroys the micro-organisms.
According to Elsan, because Elsil is based on a unique synergistic combination of stabilised hydrogen peroxide and a silver complex, which gives the benefits of two effective water disinfectants, the 2-phase effect combines to destroy the "biofilms" that protect bacteria and viruses.
As a result, they say, treatment lasts longer and has a wider bacterial spectrum.
Elsil can also be used to disinfect tanks and containers prior to use. Once filled with clean drinking water the contents can be kept pure simply by adding Elsil.
Supplied with measuring chamber and detachable filler tube, the 100ml bottle will treat 1000 litres of drinking water.
Elsil is environmentally safe and has been approved to the highest standards.
It is now used by airlines, coach operators and many major companies involved in the treatment of drinking water throughout Europe.
