Feel free to contact them direct, and keep me informed, too. (IMDA e-mail: jerrymartin@globalmarinenetwork.com) UK and Europe-based buyers are expected in bigger numbers at this year's NMMA-MAATS accessory show in Las Vegas, June 3 to 6, 2002. Now in year two, the inaugural event was claimed successful by all attending. The big buyers showed up, listened and bought. It partially replaced the long popular but out-of-date IMTEC Chicago Show.
The broadening of the world of marine commerce continues.
Marine businesses of all types reach out across borders, near and distant, for new opportunities for profit. This also means new experiences for our retail customers. These unique opportunities are what keep our business growing.
The 2002 Dusseldorf show experience illustrates the above phenomena. 38% of the 1682 exhibitors were from 53 countries.
Of the many IMDA success stories, one of the best is the progress made after USA.
IMDA members Sea-Fire (e-mail: ellis@sea-fire.com) and Centek Industries (e-mail: wkaye@centekindustries.com) both joined forces in Europe markets with UK based IMDA member IMDS (e-mail:<$>tony@shaw.co.uk) to sell their engine room lines.
UK and Europe accessory or equipment lines seeking entry into Japan could try IMDA member Hiro Okuno of Maverick International (e-mail: h-okuno@maverick.co.jp) .Japan's economy is struggling, but cash rich. As they win their battle, optimism will increase, and our industry will again take-off.
Our advice is: be there!
