Low stretch high colour ropes

Two new Dyneema ropes from FSE are available from UK importers Bainbridge International.

FSE, based in Austria, is now the largest rope maker in Europe with a range that spans high tech PBO constructions, through to traditional hemp 'look-a-likes' in polyester.

FSE Ocean Pure and Ocean Colour, are made from Dyneema fibres which are well known for their high modulus, (low stretch), characteristics and are ideal for tapered sheets, control lines, or halyards. They are available in bold, long lasting, red, blue, green or yellow colourways.

The Ocean Colour range offers a major benefit, as unlike traditional constructions that have white cores, it has a core which is colour coordinated with the polyester sheath. This means that when partially stripped, the whole length of the control line can be easily identified.

Before the fibres are braided, FSE uses a polyurethane impregnation technique for both styles, which increases the Dyneema fibres resistance to abrasion and UV degradation.

They are suitable for Club Racers right up to Grand Prix yachts.

Retailing between £2.56 and £8.44 per metre, Ocean Pure is a non-sheathed rope available from 6-10 mm diameter and with breaking strains from 1,800 to 5,200kg. Ocean Colour, in diameters from 6-12mm and breaking strains of 2,000 to 5,680 kg retails between £3.07 and £10.09 per metre.
