C-Quip now carries four boat maintenance product ranges. The main one is the well known and still popular BoatLife from the US, for which C-Quip is the sole UK distributor.

C-Quip's Ian Cooke says BoatLife still produce their successful range of polysulfide sealants, deck caulking and silicone rubber sealants. Their most exciting product is the new 'Release', a spray on clear liquid that is formulated to remove cured or uncured silicone, polyurethane and polysulfide caulking and adhesives. It can be used on metals, fibreglass, gelcoat, carpet, vinyl, plastics, and painted surfaces.

Cooke says it is currently available in a 12oz bottle but a smaller 1oz version is on its way, and says the product has the potential to save huge amounts of time scraping away at old sealant, during a hatch replacement for instance.

BoatLife also manufactures a wide range of fibreglass powder cleaners, cream cleaners, colour restorers, waxes and rubbing compounds, as well as bilge cleaner, vinyl cleaner, holding tank treatment, and a range of highly acclaimed teak cleaners and treatments. The best known is the one step, heavy duty teak 'powder' cleaner, designed not to remove the soft grain of the wood.

Then there is the 'Super Lube' range of synthetic lubricants made with PTFE, which are available in various sizes and in the form of tubes, cartridges, non-aerosol spray, aerosol spray and the very popular, 'oilier pen'.

Also now available from C-Quip are two product ranges new to C-Quip - 'Slippy Bottom' an anti-foul paint and 'Redtree' paint brushes and rollers. Cookes reports that C-Quip are the sole distributors of Slippy Bottom SP53 for the UK, an updated version of Slippy Bottom.

Redtree paint systems are not new to the UK, only to C-Quip, and used to be distributed by SS-L.

Aqua Marine also has a wide range of boat care products, including the Boat Pride range, and, of course, the Blakes range, which includes a teak cleaner, a teak sealer, a teak finish, a mast care product, and others.

The company also distributes for 3M too.

Best known as a distributor of pumps in the ITT Jabsco/Rule ranges, Cleghorn Waring also distributes Rule boat care products from America, including hull cleaners, stain lifters, bilge cleaners, waxes and many other products.

Seaware in Cornwall is a distributor for International Paints, Blakes Paints, 3M, Sikaflex, and others, whilst Mark Dowland, who have picked up several accounts since SS-L's demise handles 3M, Polymarine, International, West System, and Sika, plus another well known brand, Star Brite.

Marine & Industrial Sealants distribute several well-known brands, such as Seajet, Sika and Deks Olje.
