Transas launches Windows 2000 navigation system

Transas Nautic launched its new state-of-the-art navigation and chartplotting system at the Southampton Boat Show.

The NaviGator Tp12 was developed by the Portsmouth based company to complement its range of navigation software systems.

According to Transas Nautic, following the launch of its Tsunamis NaviGator Pro and Standard software systems earlier this year, the company's R&D team identified a niche for a powerful, yet flexible, hardware system on which to run a range of Windows 2000 compatible navigation software.

The creation of the NaviGator Tp12 was the result.

It uses a Pentium III 600MHz processor with Windows 2000, all incorporated into one unit with a slimline 12" TFT screen with a depth of 68mm.

The unit can be panel or bulkhead mounted and is economical to run on a 12V system.

The Navigator Tp12 is priced "in the region of £2,500 ex VAT", says the company.
