Consumer goods directive delayed

The Department of Trade & Industry says the European Directive on the Sale of Consumer Goods has been delayed and is not anticipated to pass into UK law until the first quarter of 2003.
The department also says that the directive is only being "gold plated" in Germany in that their domestic legislation will include business to business transactions.
