Superyacht GSM security system

Greenham-Regis launched a new wireless video transmission system, WCCTV, that will, says the company, give peace of mind to all yacht owners.

WCCTV is a digital CCTV recording system that will transmit high quality images from the boat to a PC or laptop using the mobile phone or satellite networks.

Greenham-Regis says this means as long as there is GSM network coverage, the user can keep an eye on their yacht wherever they, or the vessel may be, anywhere in the world.

The company says yacht owners now have the ability to check the general wellbeing of their vessel for themselves and that could mean anything from keeping an eye on any work that is being carried out in their absence to checking that its moorings are safe and secure.

The system also offers the options of incorporating an intruder alarm and routing through a central monitoring station which, if the alarm is triggered, will visually verify the event and alert appropriate marine security personnel, or inform the keyholder or warn the intruder through a public address system.

Alternatively, owners can simply monitor the system themselves through their own PC or mobile phone by using a standard PC or laptop connected to a PSTN/ISDN telephone or a mobile telephone.

The system is designed specifically for yacht owners and uses standard protocols, so it can interface with existing intruder and CCTV systems.

Using built-in relay outputs, the system can also be used remotely to switch various onboard devices - refrigerators, lighting, heating, etc.
