Gerber knife cuts 14mm Aramid
01 Apr 2003
This knife has a specially developed serrated blade and designed to cut rope fibre from natural to modern Aramid fibres up to 14mm in a single, swift action.
Gerber says the knife can cut toestrap webbing, trampoline mesh or netting and all sailcloth. The drop nose blade is designed for user safety and the front 3mm is not sharpened to prevent personal stabbing (a sharpened tip version is available named the Utility).
Gerber says its E-Z Out knives feature an oval slot in the blade for easy one-handed opening, right or left handed.
The handles are made from a mineral filled nylon making it more durable than a typical brass and wood handle, but many times lighter.
Kraton rubber inserts are moulded into the handle, not glued. This process prevents them from coming out and provide extra gripping surface for opening and use.
The E-Z Out Rescue measures 20.3cm overall, 11.4cm closed and wiehgs.085 Kg. It costs approximately £45.00 inc vat.
