In addition to major port and waterway information, small craft harbour anchor-ages and facilities are allocated their own sections, within the area chapters. Each chapter contains a helpful chartlet, cross-referencing and a comprehensive index. This helps Mariners locate the essential information required for safe navigational planning and execution. The publications contain a variety of general information including details of navigation and regulations, as well as the natural conditions likely to be experienced in the Mediterranean.

Over the next year, Mediterranean Pilots volume II (NP46), Volume IV (NP48) and Volume V (NP49) will be completely updated.
