Raymarine has launched High Definition Fish Imaging Technology, a patent-pending technology the company says greatly improves the performance of fishfinders.

The technology provides fishermen with an infinite number of bandwidth settings for optimal performance in all depth ranges.

Raymarine says gone are the days of adjusting complex fishfinder settings - its High Definition Fish Imaging Technology provides real "hands off" performance regardless of sea conditions.

The digitally adaptive transmitter and receiver automatically analyses the water column and seabed and adjusts the receiver bandwidth to match the water conditions.

The key to this new system is the DSM250, a digital sounder module that can be integrated with Raymarine's Pathfinder radars and Raycharts.

The company says with the DSM250, the receiver bandwidth is automatically adjusted from very wide to very narrow delivering superior fish detection, a break-through due to what Raymarine claims is a unique "digitally adaptive filter" developed over years of research and development.

Constantly adapting with a very high ping rate the DSM250, allows users to see clear displays of individual fish, enhanced bottom definition and the reduction of surface clutter on the fishfinder screen.

The unit also adds digital adaptive fishfinder capability to any 7-inch or 10-inch Raymarine hsb2 plus radar, chartplotter, L760 Plus or L1250 Plus fishfinder display.

According to Raymarine, consumers can now create an "all in one" system that delivers echo sounder/radar/charting on a single display.
