Remote monitoring and surveillance

Cactus Communication & Navigation introduced the HarborMaster Mark II, at this year's London Boat Show.

A patented remote monitoring and surveillance system, they say the HarborMaster is the latest technology in remote monitoring for the leisure boat market.

The system incorporates what Cactus calls "telematic technology" to provide what it says is the most economical and complete 24-hour monitoring solution available to boaters.

The HarborMaster monitors the boat's crucial systems when it is unattended, including battery levels, bilge pump activity, AC shore power outages, intrusion and more.

Using the system's wireless radio, boat owners are notified of adverse activity immediately by telephone voice call, SMS message, email or fax.

With complete wireless-to-web integration for world-wide system access, boat owners can check on their boat's statistics, or make two-way remote control commands through the website at: www.harborstoreeurope.com.

The HarborMaster system communicates over GSM networks to a central server which, in turn, builds a database for consultation by boat owners over the web using a standard browser, and notifies users of any potentially dangerous activity aboard their boat.

Cactus says the HarborMaster is effective wherever a GSM mobile phone will function, throughout the UK, Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia.
