Starey sells up and swallows the anchor

Bill Starey established Starey Marine Services at Lincombe, near Salcombe, in 1976 offering engineering facilities such as sales, repairs, installations and maintenance, but now he has decided to hang up his hat, writes Mike Bygrave So Starey directed Beardsley Theobalds Businesses of Exeter to sell the business for £55,000 plus a substantial level of stock.

Interest came from all over the country and the successful buyer for the firm, which includes agencies for Sea Start, and Volvo Penta as well as dealerships for Yanmar and Honda, is former Royal Navy engineer, John Bower.
