Birchwood exceeds expectations

"We're extremely pleased with the shape of the order book, " said managing director Ian Willgress. "It's only July and business is already exceeding our expectations."
Following their acquisition of Birchwood in December 2002, Ernie Vick, Paul Wagstaff and Stephen Williams introduced a new corporate identity and the company recently announced the appointment of interior designer Peter Higgins, design director of Originata Limited, to create a choice of life-style concepts, which reflect the diverse range of Birchwood customers.
Also in development is a new styled 45ft boat and a re-engineered 510 with a full re-launch of the company planned for the Southampton Boat Show in September.
The company says as a result of the growth in business, it is making a significant increase to its workforce, recruiting new engineers, laminators and joiners.
