New Broads Authority chairman appointed

He is director of both the Centre for Social and Economic Research on the Global Environment (CSERGE) and of the new, sustainable Zuckerman Institute for Connective Environmental Research at the University of East Anglia.
Turner, 54, who lives with his family at Cringleford, near Norwich, is the author of some 200 publications and has an entry in Who's Who .
He was awarded the CBE for services to sustainable develop-ment in the 2000 Millennium Honours Awards, and was short listed for the 2002 Mansholt Prize.
He advises many research organisations and panels and sits on the editorial board of numerous publications.
Martin Broom, managing director of Broom Boats, was re-elected vice chairman. He is chairman of the Broads Hire Boat Federation, a council member of the British Marine Federation and sits on the Inland Waterways Committee of the Royal Yachting Association.
