Waterways people get honours

Her Majesty The Queen's recent birthday honours included recognition for three well-known waterway personalities.
Robin Higgs OBE, chairman of Southern Canals Association, former chairman of Surrey & Hants Canal Society, a former member of the IWA Council and former chairman of the IWA's Restoration Committee.
Stewart Sim OBE, operations and technical director with British Waterways. Sim has been one of those primarily responsible for the improved standards of maintenance on BW's waterways.
Michael Limbrey MBE, chairman of Montgomery Waterway Restoration Trust and vice chairman of IWA's Shrewsbury & Border Counties Branch.
