Previously sales and marketing manager, Mogensen will now add the responsibility for all marketing and customer support in Europe for MXMarine, which was established as a business unit of Leica Geosystems to strengthen the marine electronics profile.
Her experience in taking boats up to MCA Code of Practise standard and her in-depth knowledge of the regulatory environment provides a valuable resource to those clients of Ocean Safety looking to equip their boats for commercial leisure operations.
Jayne Mills has been appointed business development manager at the Environment Agency . Mills, who joins the agency from Cardiff University, where she was head of sports and recreation services for five years, will be responsible for managing the new Waterway Plan, identifying new commercial opportunities for the agency and overseeing the Strategic Environmental Appraisal.
She will also lead Thames Ahead, the partnership initiative to improve facilities and encourage boating on the nontidal river.
Prior to working in Cardiff, Mills lived in New Zealand for 18 months, lecturing on leisure management.
Lucie Goodwin was appointed as a dedicated event organiser at Saltwater Events during the summer of 2002 and has already run successful events for the launch of the Fairline 74 and the Peters Boating Festival.
Before joining Saltwater, Goodwin worked for Sea Ventures as an organiser on corporate sailing events. She holds a Level 2 Powerboat Certificate and is a regular south coast sailor.
Sally Banham has joined the British Marine Federation (BMF) as assistant director.
She will be responsible for the management of the statistics and market research and environment services departments within the BMF and oversee the federation membership function.
She will also have a key role in the BMF's government relations and public affairs work.
Banham will be working closely with BMF executive director Howard Pridding. She has a doctorate in Environmental Chemistry and comes to the BMF from ABPmer's environment team, where she was a senior consultant specialising in the environmental assessment of marine development projects.
Banham has sailed from a young age and recently completed her Coastal Skipper's practical course prior to chartering in Sardinia.
She also lists windsurfing amongst her interests.
John Macaulay has been promoted to divisional manager at Haven Knox-Johnston .Macaulay, from Hassocks in West Sussex, has worked in the marine insurance sector in a variety of roles since 1979 and joined Haven Knox-Johnston as business development manager in 1996.
As divisional manager, he will be responsible for managing and controlling the underwriting and day-to-day operating activities of Haven Knox-Johnston and coordinating all activities to ensure its smooth operation.
He becomes a member of the senior management team of Amlin Marine Services, contributing to the strategic direction of the business.
Macaulay is married with one daughter and is a keen sailor. He also lists diving and waterskiing among his interests.
Peter Baaker is the new field engineer for Spectra Watermakers .After starting out in electronics engineering, Baaker developed his business into a design company, working for clients such as Mastervolt, Victron Energie, Atlantic Shipyard, plus a lot of special products.
Baaker took up his position at METS in November 2002.
