The hinged cover gives a loud click to confirm it is tightly closed. Plastimo says this prevents the shower hose from uncoiling unintentionally, potentially to get caught in the propeller. The housing is splashproof when closed.

Plastimo says the shape of the shower housing has been contoured specifically to avoid the shower spray being accidentally activated and the housing fits snugly in any deck or transom of sail and power boats, to give a clean uncluttered look.

Flush installation in transom or deck only requires a O 70 mm hole, easily done with a hole saw, says Plastimo. The housing requires minimal depth for installation and accepts most existing shower heads - see picture.

The UV-resistant ABS cover withstands temperature variation, has a 316 stainless steel hinge pin and is maintenance-free.
