Sealine gets wired with Seaplex
01 Feb 2003
The S38 is a high performance sports cruiser with Sealine's little extras, such as the radar arch from the S41 and the patented extending bimini.
Equipped at the show with twin Volvo 300s, engine options range from 400 to 600hp.
The S42 uses Sealine's latest closed tunnel surface drive, designed by powerboat ace, Fabio Buzzi. Twin 480hp engines give that typical surface drive rooster tail that's ideal for the American market.
All Sealine's boats will now use the company's new Seaplex System, shown on the S38 at Earls Court.
Claimed to be a world first for the leisure marine market, the Seaplex wiring system enables up to 400 items of equipment to be switched and monitored via a two-wire cabling system.
"We used automotive industry technology to produce a new type of harness, " said Sealine chairman, Gerard Wainwright. "There's no loom, just two multiflex wires plus one to monitor and drive."
The new system leads to a 70% reduction in looming and offers remote diagnostics.
Wainwright promises further expansion of Sealine, with bigger production facilities, three new mid-range boats to be launched this year and: "a much bigger boat for ExCeL".
The new boat will, promised Wainwright: "move the barriers forward."
