The BMF's Boating comes to Goodwood
01 Feb 2003
Set for Thursday, May 22, the race meeting will provide an opportunity for the UK leisure marine industry to get together outside the usual confines of boat shows and trade association events.
Goodwood is an excellent venue, set high on the Sussex Downs north of Chichester.
There will be dedicated marine trade areas and seven of the day's races are up for sponsorship.
Three of the races will be televised and will attract a premium. The seven sponsors will be offered prime hospitality in four Charlton Stand boxes (capacity 40 each) and three Richmond Pavilions (capacity 24 each). Three further Richmond Pavilions are available and can be used as individual boxes, or opened out to create a larger "restaurant" atmosphere.
Further hospitality areas are available in the Sussex Suites for companies wishing to bring smaller parties along.
Sponsorship options start from the top Platinum package at £19,000 + VAT for a televised, named race and hospitality for 40 people. Gold packages cost £14,000 + VAT and £8,000 + VAT.
Silver sponsorship costs £6,000 + VAT and the Bronze package for £1,800 + VAT gets a table for eight and hospitality in the Sussex Suites.
The day is being run by Saltwater Events, whose managing director, Georgina Bartlett, told BB : "The BMF's Boating Comes to Goodwood has the basic motive to raise funds for the St Winifred's Hospice, near Goodwood, and the Meningitis Trust."
It also provides a platform for the industry to entertain customers or colleagues at one of the UK's most stunning racecourses, she said.
"So far the interest in the event has been tremendous from both large and small companies. BBC TV will be covering the event and incorporating footage gained at the London Boat Show."
