Bertram will oversee all sales activities in the European market, be responsible for the further growth of the Edson product line and will be the primary contact for boatbuilders in Europe.
He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in the marine industry. Most recently the technical manager for hardware, special project and business development at Bainbridge International, Bertram has also been employed by - and a consultant to - many hardware, rigging, sail and boat manufacturers including Ian Terry Engineering, Proctor Spars and Hood Yacht Systems.
In addition to his marine business experience, Bertram counts Whitbread Races, Admiral's Cup campaigns, he's been a professional skipper, project manager and sail coordinator on numerous campaigns and a key member of the afterguard on several high-profile racing syndicates.
Jeremy Usher has been appointed product manager, ports and hatches at Trend Marine Products.
Before joining Trend, Usher spent seven years as the European sales manager for Bomar ports and hatches and prior to that he filled a variety of roles in commercial shipping, yacht project management and marine engineering.
Phil Morris has been appointed sales manager for Revenger RIBs. He will be based at Swanwick, in Eastlands Boatyard, where the Revenger range of RIBs is produced.
Morris has been working with Revenger almost since the first Revenger 27 RIB was built in 1996, helping out at boat shows, testing new boats and setting up the website.
His main responsibly will now be for sales and the marketing of Revenger RIBs.
Additional roles are the electrical wiring of the RIBs, generating the owners' manuals and updating the Revenger website.
Kevin Robertson has been appointed as sales and marketing director for McMurdo.
His responsibilities will include the worldwide sales and marketing of the marine electronics manufactured by McMurdo, marine pyrotechnics and distress signals from Pains Wessex, and communications equipment from Chichester based ICS Electronics Ltd.
Robertson has extensive experience in the worldwide marine industry. He joins McMurdo Ltd from Kelvin Hughes and was responsible for the sales and marketing of its commercial electronic products.
In this role, he was also directly responsible for sales and marketing in regions including the Middle East, Germany and the USA.
In his 27 year career in the marine industry, which commenced as a ship's officer in the Merchant Navy, Kevin has worked as a marine surveyor based in Saudi and in the oil and gas industry located in the USA, UK, Geneva, Mexico and Bolivia.
Vincent Geake has been appointed chief executive of the Yeoman Group.
Geake joined Yeoman in late 1999 after wide experience in general management and technology leadership and has been instrumental in both the technical and strategic development of Yeoman and B&G.
He will work closely with Hugh Agnew, the current chief executive, who will assume the role of deputy chairman, assisting with the strategic and corporate direction of the group.
Malcolm Quayle has been appointed works manager at Southampton Yacht Services.
Quayle started in the marine trade and gained experience in many areas. His first work experience was six years in the joinery shop at the Moody yard in Bursledon, Southampton, before moving to BAe to work in R&D, mainly in composite structures and fabrications used in airframe components.
After progressing to engineering systems manager, he took a new direction and worked as a QA manager in IT and then into business development before coming back to yacht building with SYS.
Damon Roberts, founder and managing director of Carbospars, has joined strain specialists Insensys Ltd.
Roberts will concentrate on the development of optical fibre strain sensing systems for the marine, exploration and aerospace industries.
