Extra light deck shoe

Dubarry has launched the Skipper, the latest model in its Extralight range, which they say is 25% lighter than most other deck shoes.

The Skipper weighs in at just 330g, due, they say, to the Extralight sole which is made from injection moulded EVA (ethyl vinyl acetate).

Dubarry says the EVA sole also provides shock absorbency, adding comfort for wearers. The patented sole design is based on Formula One car tyres with a series of interconnecting channels that allow water to be dispersed away from the point of impact in several directions.

The Skipper is made from Pittards high performance WR100 Mirapel leather, tanned with a water resistant treatment.

The hand stitched roll top moccasin-style front is also sealed to keep water out and the shoe has a Drilex patch, designed to help ventilate the foot and draw moisture away from the inside of the shoe.

Available in 41 to 47 (UK 7 to 12), the Skipper retails at £90.00.
