Sailmaker wins business prize after one year's trading

Murray Caldwell, who set up MC Sails at Rosneath on the Gareloch just over a year ago, has been named Shell LiveWire's Young Entrepreneur of the Year for Dunbartonshire, and goes forward to the national finals at Stirling, writes Mike Balmforth.

Caldwell runs his new business with the help of his family, who have long connections with the former McGruer yard on the Gareloch - indeed his business is based in one of their former buildings.

Twenty four year old Caldwell got start-up assistance from The Prince's Trust, and this prize of £900 will be another welcome help on his way to success.
