Lewmar moves windlass production
01 Jun 2003
The move is part of an ongoing strategic review of Lewmar's manufacturing operations, which involved a recent move of its rigging business to the USA and will, says the company, "provide enhanced benefits for our customers, continuing the group's mission to be 'the easiest supplier with which to do business'.
"Our company is proud of its reputation of being a leading marine equipment supplier that is easy to do business with, " said Robert Hill, Lewmar's managing director. "Our strength lies in our straightforward and innovative approach across all our operations from product design, to engineering excellence, to customer service."
The continued realignment of our manufacturing operations supports that objective, he added.
The shift in production will take place by the end of September 2003. Operations will not be disrupted and there will be no reduction in capacity, said Lewmar.
