One-button watermaker

US Spectra Water -makers has launched what it claims is an innovative range of "water - machines", the Turbine Series.

The Spectra Watermachine Turbine series integrates the latest micro-processor control technology that gives the user simple one button operation to fill or control tank levels or automatically monitor salinity while making water, keep a check on the pre-filter and sea strainer.

The units will automatically fresh water-flush after each session, and can be set up to flush at regular intervals while the unit is unattended for short periods.

Spectra says the units have a generator friendly, variable frequency, pump motor drive to eliminate voltage surges.

At the heart of the system is a new 316 stainless steel turbine A/C feed water pump that Spectra says is the most rugged, reliable and quiet unit available today. Each unit is housed in a compact welded stainless steel frame with low maintenance brushed stainless panels.

Commercial sized filtration is used for minimal internal maintenance and they say the addition of the exclusive to Spectra Z-Brane product will eliminate the need for ever pickling the membranes and increase the membrane warranty to three years.

The Spectra Watermachine Turbine Series has models that produce between 400 to 1000 gallons, or 1400 to 3500 litres per day.

The unit also offers increased flexibility as the pump, and membrane module can be separated from the body of the unit to allow a wide variety of installation options.
