Thornham under new management
01 Jun 2003
Since the marina changed hands last October, much has been done to tidy the site, clearing the foreshore and laying the car park out sensibly.
Waste oil tanks have gone and tons of shingle have been laid around the site. The pontoons have been cleaned and overhauled and the piles have been repainted.
New cables have been laid to improve the power supplies and extra taps have been installed around the basin area.
Capital investment sees a 35 ton crane at the yard to handle rigging, boat lifting and launching.
Claiming to be one of the most competitively priced marinas on the South Coast, Thornham has 78 drying pontoon berths and yard storage facilities with electricity and water available for approx 200 vessels.
The on-site facilities include marine engineer John Cutler, Multihull World brokerage, Porters dinghy building specialists and, as a result of the acquisition, a new service from JBT Marine offering buying and selling second-hand RIBs, tenders and engines.
