Sail assembly tape from Scapa

A new double-sided polyester tape, developed specifically for the sail assembly market, has been developed by technical tape manufacturer Scapa in partnership with Contender Sailcloth.

Scapa D260, has a thickness comparable to the silicone coated nylon fabrics used in spinnaker production, allowing increased flexibility and reduced creases.

The polyester-based tape with a silicone adhesive not only provides a strong bond to silicone-based substrates, it is also completely waterproof.

The tape can be used as a permanent bond or simply to secure sail pieces before sewing.
