The seven major sponsors are in place and hospitality boxes and tables booked for the more than 300 people from the marine industry who will enjoy a day's horse racing from the best viewing position on the course, The Charlton Stand.

The televised races will be the Sunseeker Conqueror Stakes, the Peters Fairline Festival Stakes and the Excel Stakes.

The non-televised races are the Marine Trader Media Maiden Fillies Stakes, the Raymarine Stakes, the Denovo Maiden Fillies Stakes and the Avon Apprentice Stakes.

There will be a charitable element to the day, with Avon donating a RIB and Mariner engine to be raffled to benefit three worthy charities - The Meningitis Research Foundation, St Wilfred's Hospice and The Army Benevolent Fund.

"It's tremendous value when compared with other prestige corporate days and companies are still booking their places, " said Bartlett. "I'm really looking forward to the day and I'm sure the UK marine industry will have a superb inaugural Boating Comes To Goodwood."

Then we move straight into planning the 2004 event, she added.
