Raymarine adds to chartplotter range

Raymarine has expanded its line of chartplotters with the RC435. The unit features a 6" 1/4VGA, 16 colour TFT display that is, says the company, easy to view in any light conditions.

The RC435 has a 12-channel, WAAS capability, GPS and is EGNOS ready, so Raymarine says boaters can expect the highest accuracy location information.

The unit uses Navionics GOLD cartography, which give the user access to a wealth of information including depth contours, spot soundings, tides, currents and sunrise/sunset times.

For navigation and route planning, there is a simple user interface and enough memory to store 500 waypoints and 20 routes, with up to 50 waypoints per route, in the internal memory.

Additionally, Raymarine says the Compact Flash card allows for storage of further route, waypoint and track data.

Other features include a dedicated MOB function that provides position, range/ bearing and elapsed time from the incident. The RC435 also has alarms for waypoint arrival, cross-track error, anchor drift and loss of position fix.

Waterproof to CFR46, US Coastguard standard, the unit can be mounted externally, or it can be flush mounted in a console. Installation is easy, they say, with plug and play connectors.
