We leave the dock at 08.00 after a short briefing, then have coffee and bacon rolls on the way out to the start.

There will be four races, with three to count, so we'll be out there all day. Each boat has a packed lunch and a drink on board for each crew member - you can have anywhere between five and eight crew.

We aim to be back in Port Solent around 17.00 for a drinks party and the prizegiving.

A boat will cost £650.00, with individual places costing £85.00 (we should be able to find places on boats for the odd sailor). Those prices cover the boat, the race committee, setting the course and all race insurance. They also include a donation to the John Merricks Sailing Trust.

We already have boats from Lewmar and Raymarine, plus IPC and Boating Business .David Coleman reckoned he could get a crew of ringers together to sail fro Barton and show us all how to do it??.

And it would be nice to see a BMF boat in there.
