Raymarine to sponsor yachting awards

Organised by The Yachting Journalists' Association (YJA) the two awards will be known as the Raymarine YJA Yachtsman of the Year and Raymarine Young Sailor of the Year and will be presented at a ceremony during the Schroders London Boat Show at ExCeL in January.
Past winners of the YOTY include all the great names in yachting - Eric Hiscock, Sir Francis Chichester, Sir Robin Knox-Johnston, Sir Chay Blyth, Edward Heath, Tracy Edwards and Ellen MacArthur.
The current holder of the Yachtsman of the Year title is Olympic Gold medallist Ben Ainslie.
Fiona Pankhurst, Raymarine's International Marketing Communications Manager said;
"These awards significantly help to promote our sport and its participants to the general public, helping boaters achieve the national and international recognition they deserve."
For the first time, the general public is being asked to submit nominations for both awards.
