Magnetised fuel stops sludge and cleans filters
01 Apr 2004
Traditional methods of treating diesel fuel to reduce sludge buildup and minimise plugged filters typically employ chemicals, says Algae-X, but they reckon a safer and more effective technique is the use of magnetic flux technology, which passes the fuel through a magnetic field to improve its performance.
They say using the same scientific principle of induction used in generators, alternators, electro motors and transformers, passing diesel fuel through a magnetic field exerts a force on the weak bonds that hold the clusters of molecules together into filter-blocking sludge.
This force, says Algae-X, loosens the bonds and causes the clusters to break into smaller particles, which combust more efficiently and have less impact on fuel filters.
The company also says while filters remove particles and water and biocides control organic growth, they do not solve fuel stability problems or sludge buildup.
According to Algae-X, the majority of the sediments are fuel components that have formed into sludge. Treating the fuel magnetically dramatically reduces all of these symptoms.
Secondly, they say since the magnetic fuel conditioner has no moving parts, there are no electrical connections or filters to clean, maintenance is zero.
Finally, after conditioning the fuel magnetically there is apparently less soot and smoke produced by the engine.
