Warp guard prevents mooring line chafe

Chafe-Pro (UK) has a new mooring line guard for the superyacht market. It consists of a specially designed heavyduty nylon weave outer cover, with an inner protective shield made from heavy-duty marine grade nylon.

The company says this gives greater protection from abrasion and UV exposure than even high-modulus Aramid or HMPE lines can offer.

The line guards are held around the warps using Velcro, so are easily put on and taken off by one crewman.

Chafe-Pro says its products are even in use on the mooring lines of the 61,000 tonne American aircraft carrier USS John F Kennedy.
