Boats make the Ideal Home

With its theme of waterside living, the marine industry will be well represented at this year's Ideal Home Show.

The shiny area is the polished Cuproguard

One exhibit is the Optimum60 from Waterspace Plc, a company that specialises in producing floating offices and homes. Described as one of the key exhibits at the show, the boat has 1,050 sq ft of internal space and is one of four show houses at the 2004 show.

Built by Blondecell, the Optimum60 can be a two or three bedroom residence, but for the Ideal Home Show the boat is fitted out as a luxurious one-bedroom home.

Another marine company featuring is Ecosea, which has its Cuproguard applied to the Optimum 60's hull. Blondecell reckoned it might be difficult to lift a home or office out for a scrub, so specified Cuproguard as the antifouling.
