MDM breaks out the Bruce

Mark Dowland now has the Bruce anchor range in its 2004 catalogue. The range, which covers: 5, 7.5, 10, 15, 20, 30 and 50 kilo anchors are all offered from stock.

According to MDM, the Bruce anchor is renowned in the marine world due to its unique design and unbeatable performance. Introduced to the UK in 1973 the anchor has received numerous awards and approvals including Lloyds Register of Shipping and NATO approval.

The anchor is also the preferred choice of many of the world's finest boatbuilders due to its performance, quality and reputation, says MDM.

They say the major benefits of the Bruce anchor are its unique design which gives selforientation, high holding power, low break-out force and unequalled setting capability.

The cast steel alloy construction gives superior strength and allows the anchor to sustain the loading on a boat from a Force 9 wind without damage to the anchor.

MDM says recent pressures on suppliers and distributors of marine hardware to offer more competitively priced products have been intense. To address this, they say cast steel Bruce anchors are now manufactured by the company's established supplier in Brazil. The supplier has worked with Bruce Anchor (Leisure) Limited for over 30 years and this, they say, ensures continuity in the production of anchors using existing technical know-how, quality and performance standards.

As a result Bruce Anchor (Leisure) Limited has reduced the selling prices across the range, with average reductions of 42% in the 5kg to 20kg range and 23% in the 30kg and 50kg range.
