Lock exterior electronics in place
01 Dec 2004
Manufactured by DuraSafe of New Berlin, Wisconsin, USA, the DuraSafe is designed to stop thieves from making off with the VHF radio, GPS or fishfinder, providing the user with the freedom to leave the boat without having to hide deck mounted units or take them ashore.
Suitable for all power and sail boats the DuraSafe electronic lock replaces one or both of the trunnion pins that secure the unit to its deck mounted bracket. Various thread sizes have been produced to cover almost all instruments available and they say as it is just a case of replacing one screw fitting with another, it's that easy to install.
All the locks are constructed from marine grade materials and provide an affordable way of protecting marine electronics, whilst also reducing the plug wear from continually having to plug and unplug units every time the boat is left for a few minutes.
