    The Raymarine Group Limited is to seek a listing on the main market of the London Stock Exchange. 

  • Marine Trade Show on hold

    As we closed for press it was announced the 2005 Marine Trade Show has been put on hold by organisers National Boat Shows (NBS) while a fiveyear strategic business plan is developed. The decision has the full backing of the Marine Trades Association (MTA). 

  • METS closes 14% up

    The Marine Equipment Trade Show (METS) in Amsterdam closed with the unaudited attendance figure quoted by organisers Amsterdam RAI as 15,147. There were 938 exhibitors from 30 countries.

    It's been a busy month or two. METS was its usual excellent self, but we wonder if it's getting just a bit too big? With the RAI selling off Europort, METS will expand into Halls 1 to 7 next year, gaining some extra 8,000 sq m of space. 

  • Swobbit in European push

    US company Swobbit Products, is mounting a push into Europe after naming six distributors at METS to handle its business over here. Sea Sure gets the UK distribution.

    Euro-MP Peter Skinner has called on the Moroccan Ambassador to Belgium to discuss the release of John Lauder Packwood, from the Isle of Wight, who is currently being held in a Spanish prison pending extradition to Morocco.

    A nine-year -old Devon sailing enthusiast is using the power of the Internet to establish himself as one of the UK's youngest entrepreneurs.
