BOC brilliant in 1st Brundall event

The newly formed Broom Owners Club (BOC) is delighted with the success of its first organised event - a weekend at Broom's Brundall factory, writes Mark Wakelin.

Forty three Broom boat owners were given a factory tour of the UK's longest established motor yacht builders.

Club chairman David Broad said: "This was a great event and gets the new club off to a flying start. We are very grateful indeed to Martin and Jennifer Broom for their support and the wonderful welcome they showed us."

After the factory tour the group took a trip down the River Yare for lunch at the riverside Coldham Hall Tavern - see picture above.

There were also demonstrations of boat cleaning materials and techniques and a technical forum in which members were able to quiz Martin Broom and his panel of experts.

A gala dinner followed at the Oaklands Hotel in Thorpe St Andrew and next day saw further group sessions, with ideas for owner modifications and demonstrations of the latest Raymarine kit.

Future dates for the BOC includes a reception on Broom's stand at ExCeL on Thursday January 6 and a Cruise Planning Seminar at the Limehouse Headquarters of the Cruising Association on the 7th. A themed safety weekend with practical demonstrations is planned for early March.
