New crew for Cowes Handbook and web site

Anyone who has raced or cruised into Cowes in the last few years is likely to have seen a copy of the Cowes Port Handbook. With nearly 200 pages stuffed full of really useful information the handbook and its accompanying website, cowes. co. uk, have become required reading for anyone visiting Cowes or just sailing in the Solent.

Now, publisher Philip Thwaites is handing over the reins to a new publishing team from The Knowledge Zone, which will work with Cowes Harbour Commission to ensure the continuing quality of both the handbook and the website.

Led by Sara Coombes and Steve Sleight, ex-editor of All At Sea and author of the DK Complete Sailing Manual, TKZ have already started on the production of the 2005 handbook, which will be published in time for Easter next year.

By then, the website will have also undergone a major redevelopment designed to provide easier navigation, more up-to-the-minute news and information, greater interactivity, and new features designed to appeal to both racing and cruising sailors and power boaters.
