Set for Wednesday April 21, the regatta will be sailed in Sunsail's Sun Fast 37s out of Port Solent. There will be four races with three to count and boats cost £650. The fee includes boat hire, insurance, breakfast and lunch for the crew (minimum of five, maximum of eight), plus drinks at the prizegiving in Portsmouth Harbour Yacht Club. A donation will also be made to the John Merricks Sailing Trust.

The boats can be taken over from 19.00 on the Tuesday for those wishing to overnight at Port Solent in readiness for the 08.00 start on the Wednesday.

There will probably be quite a few crews dining in Portsmouth Harbour Yacht Club on that Tuesday, so that could be an interesting evening.

David Minors at B&G says the company won the first regatta back in the early 90s and intends to do the same this time around . . .
