Why, asked many, was the Guinness Bar secreted in the north west corner of the hall?
Simple, said NBS. At Earls court there was a cellar right under the Guinness Bar. But ExCeL doesn't have the necessary cellars, so they needed an alternative arrangement.
But how, you may ask, did the Fox pub on the Inland Waterways feature restock? According to Paul Streeter, the Fox has its beer in barrels, which were easy to transport through the show when needed.
Guinness, however, brings its product to the boat show by the tanker load, pumping it through the walls into the stand.
