IBEX U comes to the United Kingdom

After three successful IBEX U events in the United States, show producers will introduce the regional conference and exhibition to the United Kingdom in 2004 Surprisingly, the Bournemouth Conference Centre has been selected to be the first UK venue to stage the show on April 15 and 16 2004.

"Bournemouth offers us a beautiful facility which fits our event perfectly, " says marketing director Anne Dunbar. "It offers a good location and is an easy trip for the majority of regional boatbuilders."

IBEX is owned and produced by Professional BoatBuilder magazine, which selected the United Kingdom as a large, international boatbuilding centre to which they will bring critical trade education and sourcing opportunities to Europe for the first time.

The UK's IBEX U event will be tailored for the British boatbuilding community, incorporating seminar topics specifically designed to address the needs of UK boat builders, designers, repairers, surveyors, and marina/boatyard operators.

Members of the marine industry can request topics online via IBEX U's website at www.ibexu.com A final conference schedule, produced by the editors of PBB magazine, will be available late January/ early February.

A PBB magazine audit shows more than 1,000 of its readers work in the UK. "We 're in constant communication with the readers of PBB, and we are responsive to their requests, " says Carl Cramer, publisher of PBB magazine and show director of IBEX U. "Ever since the launch of IBEX U two years ago, the European boat-building segment has been asking that we bring the exhibition and conference east of the United States to boatbuilders worldwide."

Given Britain's high concentration of readers, coupled with a significant number of requests from the British for boatbuilding events, we're starting an international series of events with Bournemouth, he added.
