RNLI award for Young

Neil Young has been running fund raising barbecues for the RNLI since 1996. The 2003 event was attended by 72 people, which PR man Young says is a record. It was also the most successful, raising £1,150.00.

The format was changed for 2003, with more local businesses donating raffle prizes and auction items ranging from a digital radio to a flight for three around the IoW during Cowes week. The flight was donated (and piloted) by Robert Hill of group sales and marketing director of Lewmar.

Young says he understands his events have raised over £3,900.00, which brought Young and his wife Sally a hand painted RNLI plaque thanking them for their efforts.
