The software has been developed to give the user even more details on one screen and the CPU has memory enough to store up to 3000 alphanumerical waypoints with 48 icons, 25 routes with up to 50 waypoints each, 5 tracklogs, 1 x 2000 points, 4x 500 points.
The unit has a 6.4" 16-colour TFT screen (163mm on the diagonal), giving what Plastimo says is crisp, 1/4 VGA resolution, 320 x 234 pixels, with daylight view technology and night/day settings to adapt to ambient conditions; bright sunlight, normal daylight or night.
The SiRFstar GPS chipset gives fast processing and redraw of charts (10 times faster, says Plastimo) and the unit has a WAAS/EGNOS enabled antenna.
TRACKER 5600 GPSchartplotter is compatible with the new C-MAP NT+ cartography which, says Plastimo, goes a step further, offering a SuperWide coverage (four sizes for optimum precision), the possibility to display a paper chart mode and all the C-MAP functions - port and tide info, chart rotation, quick access to icon data, and the reliability of professional chart editing.
The Tracker 5600 also accepts cartridges of the former generation.
